Abstract:Two samples of fifteen-week interdisciplinary courses in African studies potentially of interest to undergraduate teachers at American liberal arts colleges are provided in this article. The courses - one on literature and politics in Africa, the other on African philosophy and political thought - draw primarily from available African sources. They are based on the premise that students and teachers of African studies in the United States could benefit from integrating materials from both the social sciences and the humanities. Notes, ref., sum.
