Abstract: | In Africa South of the Sahara, few newspapers are yet in private African hands. It is essential for the survival of a free Press that African journalists acquire the necessary skills to equip themselves for the responsibilities they will have to bear in the next few years. Mr. Rose, Director of the International Press Institute since its inception in 1951, made a survey of the needs of the African Press in the latter part of 1961. |
