| Abstract: | In January 1983, scholars and policymakers from the six West African nations of Sierra Leone, Senegal, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana, and Liberia, and their Afro-American counterparts from the United States of America, took part in a conference on the 'Dynamics of the African/Afro-American connection', held in Monrovia, Liberia. The fifteen papers and responses in the present volume address the conference's goals of strengthening collaboration, dialogue, and research between continental Africans and those in the diaspora. Also included are a summary interpretation of the initial preparatory workshop held at Boston University in 1981, and the statements delivered to the conference by M.A. Brown Sherman, President of the University of Liberia, and S.K. Doe, Liberian Head of State. Contributors: A.F. CAINE, H.S. CHALLENOR, A.M. CROMWELL, E.U. ESSIEN-UDOM, R. Simms HAMILTON, J.E. HARRIS, W.R. JOHNSON, Ali A. MAZRUI, D. NICOL, E. PALMER, P.T.
