Abstract:This book contains 6 papers on general themes together with 33 technical papers based on research in 14 countries. The aim of the general lectures is to provide an overview of relevant subject areas. The technical papers consider specific questions related to the de sign, rehabilitation, management and evaluation of small holder irrigation schemes and the role of the farmer. The majority are based on African experience, and in particular central and southern Africa.
