Abstract:	Looks at the kind of policy choices and options that the urban informal sector throws up for the State and for existing training institutions in developing countries. These choices are being contemplated in a situation where the formal sector commitments of the education and training institutions remain dominant. The role of ministries of education in relation to the informal sector will tend to be an indirect one rather than the direct provision of courses.
