Abstract:	During an ecological survey of Bangangai Game Reserve in southwest Sudan considerable use was made of J.W.G. Wyld's (undated) Flora of Zande District and of F.W. Andrews' (1948, 1953, 1957) vernacular names of plants. The Zande people live very close to their environment, and most plants have Zande names and specific uses. These have previously been collected in the two main lists noted above. It was felt there was a need to collate and update all available lists for the use of anyone working in the Zande area of Sudan, Zaire and the Central African Republic. Three lists are given here: 1) Zande to scientific names; 2) scientific to Zande names, with plant family; 3) list of Zande plant names for which no identification has yet been made.
