Abstract:This report presents the first published findings of the collective work of Schooling, cognition and work, a collaborative research effort comprising researchers at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and the Bureau of Educational Research, Kenyatta University, Kenya. The research is concerned with the outcomes of primary schools in Kenya. Chapter 1 presents the research rationale for the study. Chapter 2 presents the common theoretical approach, organization and methods. Chapter 3 summarizes research activities and what was learned. Chapter 4 addresses itself to the issue North-South collaboration.
