| Abstract: | External efficiency is used in educational circles to describe the extent to which schools provide the necessary skills for the smooth running of the economy and the extent to which school leavers are absorbed into the labour market, find the jobs and the earnings they expect and are able to use their skills in employment, including self-employment. The schools may be judged by how well schools prepare pupils and students for their roles in society, as indicated by employment prospects and earnings of students. The study reported here is concerned with the external efficiency of primary schools in Kenya in relation to two areas of employment, namely tailoring and carpentry. |
