| Abstract: | This book provides a survey of the various forms of the Left in Africa. The Left exists in every African State, it has formed fifty-eight governments in thirty-seven countries and is currently engaged in armed struggle for State power in several countries. Following an introductory essay, the groups are listed in alphabetical order. Each entry analyses the group's history, orientation and composition. This is followed by an index of acronyms which gives the full title of the group, its country and the page on which the group's entry appears. A second index lists the groups by country. |
