| Abstract: | This book contains different kinds of contributions dealing with the Khoisan (Bushmen) in southern Africa: articles, review articles, double and extended reviews, and one reply to a review. The article section comprises four papers. Two are anthropological (by Alan Bernard on 'Cultural identity, ethnicity and marginalization among the Bushmen of southern Africa' and by Sigrid Schmidt on 'Die Vorstellungen von der mythischen Urzeit und der Jetztzeit bei den Khoisan-Völkern'), and two, by Henry Honken and by Rainer Vossen et al., deal with linguistic issues. The review and discussion section begins with a retrospect, by Michael Bollig, of the !Kung controversy, which is followed by reviews of books published in recent years. |
