Abstract:Proceedings of a conference on regional cooperation in southern Africa with a postapartheid perspective, held in Harare in September 21-23, 1988, at the initiative of the Southern African Development and Research Association (SADRA) and the Scandinavian Institute of African Studies (SIAS). The papers presented at the conference cover a wide area of topics, from regional cooperation in the field of information and the role of NGOs, to shipping structures, industrial development, labour and migrant labour, and analyses of Nordic aid to the SADCC region, as well as the regional policy of South Africa. The proceedings also include conclusions from the discussions on future research cooperation between Nordic and southern African researchers, and lists of topics identified by the conference as relevant for common research.
