| Abstract: | The Bantu of North Kavirondo, who number about 300 000, live in the westernmost part of Kenya Colony. The author presents a comparison of a 'traditional' or 'conservative' section and a 'modern' or 'progressive' section of this society, based primarily on the study of two rather diverse sub-tribes, the Logoli and the Vugusu or Kitosh. |
