Abstract:An analysis of the political superstructure of socialism-orientated countries, as well as of the dialectics of its development and the strengthening of its most progressive nucleus, must pay particular attention to the integrity and unity of the noncapitalist political system and the contradictions of socialist orientation. A highly significant section of political contradictions is those emerging in the superstructure of society, including its most important component, the political system. They are based primarily on the social structure of the revolutionary-democratic bloc. Unity and contradictions in the political superstructure of socialism-oriented countries are primarily visible in the character of State power and of the new State. The contradictions can be overcome and unity consolidated through the evolution of revolutionary-democratic government into socialist government. African examples illustrating the author's arguments come, amongst others, from Algeria, Angola, Benin, Congo, Ethiopia, Madagascar, and Mozambique. Ref.
