Abstract:This is a revised and extended version of the biography of Nelson Mandela which was published on his seventieth birthday in 1988. It was written without any interviews with Mandela. This revised edition (1989) has the benefit of contact with the 'subject' and bears the imprint of Nelson Mandela who spent considerable time correcting the first edition. It includes several new chapters based on personal interviews with him.
