Abstract: | Kenya's Mau Mau revolt - which started in 1952, and was led largely by the Kikuyu people - was one of Africa's most successful armed protests against British rule. The 'state of emergency' ended on January 12, 1960. This bibliography, which is not intended to be comprehensive, includes books and pamphlets, and articles. It contains many entries from several often ignored settler newspapers and periodicals such as 'East Africa and Rhodesia', the 'East African Standard', the 'Kenya Weekly News', 'Time and Tide', 'The Listener', and 'The Spectator'. Entries are arranged alphabetically by author. |
