| Abstract: | Blaise Compaore, the leader of Burkina Faso, does not compromise a vision which he believes is in the best interest of his people. He could not, therefore, remain quiescent while a revolution he engineered drifted under Thomas Sankara. The removal of Sankara on the evening of October 15, 1987, was deemed necessary to steer the August 4, 1983 revolution into the right direction through the Rectification Process. What led to the Rectification Process? How has the Popular Front fared since then? How popular is the Popular Front and what has it offered the Burkinabes? The author, a journalist, seeks answers to these and others issues. |
