Abstract:	The published laws of Nigeria were last revised and brought up-to-date in 1958. The book has two parts: the first part is an index to all the existing laws and regulations of Nigeria which are in force as at the 31st of December 1984. It incorporates the 1958 revised laws as well as all the annual laws which were passed between 1958 and 1984; the second part lists the laws which have either been repealed or ceased to have effect as well as the laws which were passed for the Federal Territory of Lagos and have now been incorporated into the Laws of Lagos State. Some laws and subsidiary legislation when passed do not immediately come into operation. Some on the other hand have retrospective effect. For such laws, the appointed/commencement date is indicated against them. There are also some laws which have different commencement dates for the various sections. These dates are indicated in the appendix.
