Abstract:	On December 14, 1987, the Finnish International Development Agency (FINNIDA) commissioned the University of Helsinki to make a survey of Finland's resource base for interdisciplinary research on desertification and drought in Africa. This book contains the results of this survey, dealing notably with the Sudano-Sahelian zone and eastern Africa. Contents: 1. Introduction - 2.
