Abstract: | Zambia's economic performance has traditionally been determined by the level of copper prices. The author's analyses of the impact of these prices on the real exchange rate and the rest of the economy are based on a simple simultaneous model incorporating traded and non-traded goods. It is argued that the postulates of the Dutch disease model are largely validated by the Zambian case. Bibliogr., notes, ref. |
