Abstract: | This article examines the role of women in Nigeria in traditional religion and in Islam, the importance of women's organizations in the various Christian churches, and the impact of the work of Catholic sisters on national development, notably in the field of health and education. Finally, it appraises the overall contribution of women in religion to nationbuilding, and suggests possible cooperation and collective action on the part of women from the different religious groups for better results.
