Abstract:The problem of apartheid in South Africa is an African problem, basic to the existence of the many independent States of contemporary Africa. It also touches the Asian, European and American countries. The author discusses the importance of sanctions against South Africa, the role of militant Pan-Africanism in the destruction of apartheid, and the divide and rule policy of the Botha regime and the consequent fractionalization of South African society. Finally he looks briefly at the ANC and the other parties working for the liberation of South Africa. Ref.
