| Abstract: | This study examines Eritrea's relations with two of its neighbours, Ethiopia and Sudan, in the context of US global and regional policy and the New World Order in general. It pays attention to the state of democracy in Eritrea under the EPLF (Eritrean People's Liberation Front) regime, the nature of Eritrea's burgeoning ties with Israel, the basis of the alliance between the present regimes in Eritrea and Ethiopia, the politics behind the outrage of the Eritrean government against Islamic fundamentalist movements, and the ideals and problematics of political Islam. |
