| Abstract: | The oil glut that began in 1981 has caused a severe drop in oil revenues and some major Arab oil producing countries have begun to suffer from budget deficits. The present paper addresses the question of how the drop in oil revenues has affected Arab capital transfers to Egypt. It looks at Arab capital transfers, both aid and investments, in general, and to Egypt in particular, during the period 1980-1987, and singles out elements which could influence the movement of Arab capital transfers to Egypt in a future marked by a continuing decline in Arab oil revenues.
