Editors:Mpuku, Herrick C.ISNI
Zyuulu, IvanISNI
Series:The Making of Modern Africa
City of publisher:Aldershot
Geographic term:Zambia
Abstract:National and global change has necessitated the socioeconomic transformation of Zambia. The contributions in this collective volume, which are based on presentations made by the authors to the School of Business seminar programme at the Copperbelt University in 1994, discuss the changes that have taken place in Zambia with the advent of the Third Republic in 1991, exploring the background of the policy issues and evaluating new policy directions. Several key policy areas which have been the subject of reform are identified: the economy and structural adjustment (article by Gerry Nkombo Muuka), finance (Ivan Zyuulu), land (Amos Kambenja, Moses Kaunda), housing (Sylvester M. Mashamba), urbanization (C. Pule Katele), health (Herrick C. Mpuku) and education, notably universities (George K. Simwinga).
