| Abstract: | In this bibliographical essay the author covers the developments and nuances of the relations between India and African countries as reflected in Ind-Africana literature. Focus is on the more recent period in the development of Indo-African relations, from the 1980s onward, although early literature is covered as a backdrop and as an indication of the changing nature of scholarly interest and study content. Economic cooperation in particular, in all its aspects, including trade, joint ventures, investment, technology and skill transfer, and small-scale industry, has received wide and repeated attention from Indian researchers. It has been the subject of various seminars, workshops, reports and books which are summarized here by the author. She also lists Indian journals which specialize in India-Africa relations, bibliographical aids, and institutional sources. |
