Abstract: | Aims to assess the market intervention capabilities of 6 existing organizations. Using interviews and observations of the functioning of the market for food and cash crops and animal by-products in the province, the effectiveness of governmental and semi-governmental interventions was examined in the light of stated objectives and goals. The 6 organizations have not been as successful in achieving their goals as originally anticipated, The study also suggests several ideas as policy guidelines to some of the constraints identified.
