Abstract:Recent UNESCO demands that objects of cultural and historical importance plundered from the Third World during the colonial era should be restored to the countries of origin, render opportune a reconsideration of the British expedition against Emperor Tewodros (Ethiopia) in 1867-1868 and of the extensive looting of which it was guilty.
