Abstract: | Through the use of scatology, satire, and contrast, African writers indict the elite and its glamorous world. An examination of novels by Wole Soyinka, Chinua Achebe, Nkem Nwankwo, Ayi Kwei Armah, Kofi Awoonor, and Ngugi wa Thiong'o illustrates how the writers use these techniques to expose and castigate social injustice in their countries. - Notes. |
