Abstract:Review of the more important legislation enacted in the fields of economic affairs and finance during the six months ended on March 31, 1972. Presidential Decree no. 11/1971 (4-1-1971) ratifying the agreement establishing the Arab Agricultural Development Organisation which will function under the auspices of the Arab League. The agreement becomes operative from 21-2-1972 (Minister of Foreign Affairs' Decree 13-2-1972). Seat of the Organisation: Khartoum. The Organisation is empowered to establish branch-offices in member countries. Presidential Decree enacting Law no. 90/1971 was issued on 7-11-1971, and ratifies Egypt's adherence to the International Agreement for the Settlement of Disputes. On 22-1-1972, several Cabinet decrees were issued aiming at curbing and controlling government expenditures. A summary of the most important of these decrees is given. Also summarized are decrees issued in line with the cabinet decrees by the Minister of Industry, Petroleum, Mineral Wealth, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Foreign Trade, the Minister of the Treasury, the Minister of Supply and International Trade.
