Abstract:The decisions of the International Court of Justice concerning Namibia have ranged from two advisory opinions to two on procedural matters, one on contentious proceedings and one on preliminary objections. The advisory opinion of 1950 - 2. The advisory opinions of 1955 and 1956 - 3. South-West Africa cases: Ethiopia v. South Africa, Liberia v. South Africa - 4. South-West Africa (second phase) case - 5. Legal consequences for states of the continued presence of South Africa in Namibia (South-West Africa) notwithstanding Security Council resolution 276(1970) - 6. Conclusion. Notes.
