| Abstract: | The Upper Lofa Project, which began with an agricultural census in late 1971 and is at present entering a seond phase consisting of futher in-depth surveys, represents a first attempt in Liberia to develop a framework for comprehensive regional planning. The project has many facets: assembly of available data on the Upper Lofa region, new data collection efforts such as the population census, socio-economic surveys, and compilation of material needed for physical planning.
