| Abstract: | The conclusion of the author is that economic self-determination is now a recognized principle of International Law and the principle is of special significance to those States that have recently emerged from colonialism. But this principle of economic self-determination does not exist in isolation. It must be exercised with due regard to other principles of law, such as respect for fundamental human rights, the sovereignty of other States and pacta sunt servanda. Parts of the article. 1.
