Abstract: | Aim is to analyse the dependency that characterizes the relationship between the Bantustans and South Africa, and to assess the role of multinational corporations in the present and future economic viability of the Bantustans, particularly those that have been declared independent by the Republic of South Africa. After a brief exposition of the Bantustan policy follows a brief theoretical discussion of the dependency of the Bantustans on South Africa. In its final part the paper deals with the extent of involvement by multinational corporations in the independent Bantustans. Map, notes, tab. |
