Abstract: | In 1876 a Courts Ordinance was passed in the Gold Coast Colony which provided i.a. that the statutes of general application which were in force in England as at 24 July 1874 should apply in the colony. The author examines how far the purpose for which they were introduced - to provide a temporary relief and not a lasting one - has been achieved. Notes. |
