Abstract: | Considers some of the contributions of indigenous entrepreneurs to Ghana's development, concerned in the main with those engaged in the sphere of services rather than in manufacturing. The problem is approached through an intensive study of individuals in the context of the total matrix of investment possibilities. An attempt is made to relate the issues raised to some wider problems of development planning and research. Sections: 1. the background to the Ghanaian case study presented - 2. the contributions made by indigenous entrepreneurs to Ghana's economic and social development - 3. conclusions, both specific and general.
