Abstract:Concerned with the supply of indigenous entrepreneurship in the distributive trades sector. Purpose is to identify some variables that are relevant to the supply of capital and managerial skill, and to measure the extent to which these variables are likely to contribute to the success of a trader-entrepreneur. An attempt is made in the concluding section to relate some of the findings to contemporary policy of the Government in the distributive trade sector. The data for this study are derived from a sample of small-scale shop traders in Lagos. Notes, tables.
