| Abstract: | The Penal Codes of the East African countries (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda) are based on the English common law, and they are essentially a codification of it. The codes are themselves very similar in structure and content, and little change (little of which is fundamental) has been made in them by the individual East African countries. Sections: English Common Law - East African codes (the 'will' section; other bases of responsibility; vicarious liability; justification of criminal law and sanctions; criminal legislation; legal obligation; legal sanctions).
