Abstract:Since its enactement in 1899, no significant changes in the Sudan penal Code (S.P.C.) have taken place. Law makers in the Sudan are at present engaged in the revision and reformulation of the laws in an attempt to bring them into line with the modern needs of a changing societyt but the S.P.C. warrants the least modification because it has been largely satisfactorily interpreted and applied. However, the author discusses critically some aspects of the law of homicide as laid down in the Code. Sections: Introduction - Homicide in general (Child-killing and the law of murder; Causing death in exceeding the right of private defence) Notes.
