Abstract:This paper presents a simple econometric representation of the Kenya economy in the form of a model of twenty equations and thirteen identities. The model is a variant of the Clark model, presented in the article 'The Rationale and Uses of a Projection Model for the East African Economies'(p. 1/20), and is intended to facilitate the making of economic projections and the evalution of altenative development plans at the macro level. The more immediate purposes of presenting the model here are: 1) to make a comparison of the structure of the Kenya economic tith those of Tanzania and Uganda; 2) to analyse the implications of the Kenya Development Plan, 1964-70, as an exercise in applying the model.
