| Abstract: | The initial purpose of this article is to present a model for the East African economies which can be used in making intermediate-term projections for development planning, which can be calculated with available statistical series, and which can be applied in comparisons among the three East African economies. The model is then applied to comparing the structures of the Tanzania and Uganda economies, and to analysing the assumptions and implications of the new Tanzania development plan. Another article, written by Charles W. How & Hiram Karani and entiled 'A Projection Model for the Kenya Economy', applies more refined version to Kenya. Tables; references. |
