Abstract: | The purpose of this article is a classify and describe the development programmes and policies for a number of African countries. Capital expenditure plans with emphasis on infrastructure development: 1. Programmes related to evacuation of primary products, concentrating mainly in transport and possibly education and health. 2. Programme indirectly ralted to industrialisation, concentratong on electricity production in addition to transport (fed. Rhd. and Nyasal., Uganda) - Capital exp. programmes with emphasis on directly productive investments: 1. progr. stressing agrarian reform. 2. progr. with emphasis on development of export agriculture (Ivory Coast, Togoland, Sudan, Malagasy rep. Nyasaland) 3. Progr. emphasising industrialisation (Ghana, Nig. Morocco) - Overall plans (Mali, Ethiopia, F.A.O., studies of Morocco and Tunesia).
