Abstract: | This paper briefly examines some theoretical framework in migration studies generally and focuses on the case of migrants interviewed in a survey in Western Nigeria. More specifically. it investigates the role of migration as an adjustive mechanism in the labour market and the changes in occupational structure of the migrants through.out their recorded migration career. It also draws some policy implication from the findings.
