Abstract: | Before its merger with Tanganyika on 26th April 1964 to form the United Republic of Tanzania, Zanzibar had been existing as an independent entity, though for a short period (10 December 1963 to 25 April 1964). From the time of the establishment of the British colonial presence in 1890 to the present, the country has seen many changes in its constitutional development. The purpose of this paper is to trace and analyse that constitutional history. - Notes. |
