Abstract:In Tanzania, natural resources are owned and managed collectively as has been stated in the TANU creed, aims and objectives. Hence, the management, development and utilisation of resources is the responsibility of government through the Minis try of Natural Resources and Tourism, and the Ministry of Water, Energy and Mineral. In the present article the author surveys the following natural resources: water resources, rainfall, surface hydrology, and mineral wealth, and their use and development, e.g. hydro-electric power, water supply.
