Abstract: | African independence was not only an end in itself. It was also perceived as a precondition for development: to make an end to the exploitation of the human and natural resources of Africa. The countries of southern Africa are still dependent. This places particularly the bordering countries in a dilemma: do they have to support the liberation movements, even if this is at the cost of the national economic development. Notes. |
