Abstract: | In the case of the Algerian revolution America was in a dilemma. Association with the movement would oppose it to the policies of a chief ally, but opposition to the national independence struggle was en equally unattractive position for America in which to find itself. The ensuing account is a study of a conflict of interests between shortrun and long-run advantage. |
