Abstract:Examination of Angolan-Soviet relations in the political and diplomatic spheres and an appraisal of their economic and trade links and of military and defense ties between the two countries. Conclusion: the massive Soviet military commitment in Angola cannot be divorced from overall Soviet military and strategic interest in southern Africa as a whole.
