Abstract:After stating that since the Kabaka crisis of 1953 Uganda's evolution to nationhood has shown little violence, or even ill-will, rabid nationalism or anti-colonialism, which is explained by the generally 'amiable' character of the British administrative approach during the first fifty years of this century, and by Sir Andrew Cohen's policy; the author expresses his thoughts after reading David Apter's 'The Political Kingdom in Uganda'.
