Abstract: | Since the early 1940s American policy has been one of consistent indifference to major problems and aspirations of Africa. As a consequence, American policy and prestige in Africa are drifting steadily downward. There are numerous instances of conflicts between the United States and Africa on issues of major interest to the latter. Current confrontation between the US and Africa is centred on the Southern African problem. In this respect, the importance of racial and cultural linkages as one of the determinants of US attitudes towards the Southern African problem cannot be easily ignored. Notes. |
