Abstract: | Since the Soweto student uprising in 1976, interest in the education of blacks in South Africa has grown in the United States. Of particular interest is the Reagan Administration's high profile on this issue. Purpose of this article is to explain why the Reagan Administration and South African-based U.S. corporations attach so much importance to an educational thrust into South Africa. This task necessarily begins with a brief examination of the Reagan Administration's South Africa policy as a whole. - Notes. |
